April Brooks, a.k.a. AJ Lee, was a part of WWE Team from 2009 to 2015. She started from developmental "school" NXT which was beginning to know her. She became one time FCW Divas Champion and one time Queen of NXT. AJ wanted to be in the main roster.
We recognized her in NXT. She was the part of small group. You know that NXT Season 3 included diva wrestlers. AJ Lee, Kaitlyn, Maxine, Aksana. She was in the final three. But she couldn't make it. After AJ Lee's departure, Naomi is the only one that from NXT right now. AJ Lee stayed till WM. It made me nervous. Cause we had so many departure news last year. Now she will after Summerslam, (never happened), she leaves after Night of Champions (never happened)... etc. So I was happy that she didnt leave. She disproofed us while we were happy with that.
So we learned that 2 days after Wrestlemania she retired from ring competition. Her last match was the 6-Diva Tag team match alongside with Naomi and Paige. Her "retirement" made me sad actually. I didnt know how much I like her. I am not a big fan of AJ lets be honest. But she has a quality in ring competition. Because she reminds me Attitude Era a little bit. She changed the mind of Divas division I guess. Her speech was appealing to audience which was great. She was the one of the greatest pipe bombshell. She also had emotional speech. The other reason I like her because of her craziness. Her craziness made a lot of storylines which was very good. Just lasted long.
The final part of her great entertainer was her talent. We know that after we have seen the meeting with Lita, she was dedicated to become wrestler. She granted as a talented wrestler. WWE approved her skills and ring techniques. She was very good at technique. Maybe her height was the disadvanteged part of her body. Sometimes it looks like childlish. But was it big deal? Don't think so. WWE always supported her.
To be honest, AJ is the one who wont leave WWE except from injury or extraordinary situations. Her big dream came true and she no matter how she succeed it, I think that she might have not to leave. If you follow the page of Punk, couple loves the video game and Marvel. They might play video games together. Besides, she has a strong connect of fans. She replys her fans as much as possible.
The thing that AJ left us is her ring ability. She seemed as a male version of Rey Mysterio. He is the biggest little man. So is she. She became two time Divas Champion. And she hold her title 295 days in her second reign. It was the magnificent time for Divas Division. It is not quite simple. You gotta earn it. I think that she deserved it. She left so many memories to us. The only thing that we can do is saying our emotions. "Thank you for all things you've done for us." Hope your future is bright as possible.
